Appalachian Christian Village has extended an invitation for us to take part in a week of special activities celebrating Active Aging Week from Sepetember 24th through the 28th.
Enjoy fitness classes, tai chi, music events, arts and crafts shows, demonstrations, hands-on craft activities, delicious food, and delightful people at Appalachian Christian Village's week-long celebration of Active Aging Week.
Visit christianvillage.org or call (423) 610-8508 to register. Appalachian Christian Village is located off Mountcastle Drive, behind First Christian Church in Johnson City. All activities are free.
By the way, a handful of our dance students will be entertaining at 6:00PM on Monday, September 24th. Marcia Rountree, their activities coordinator, says that "the public will need to wear their tutus in order to participate!", although I'm pretty sure she was kidding. = )
Appalachian Christian Village

Each month, several of our instructors and students visit and entertain the residents at Appalachian Christian Village, a retirement community in Johnson City.
From a faux wedding ceremony of 4 and 5 year olds, to group performances by our pre-ballet students, and musical performances by our friends and students... These visits are always received well and have been an incredible blessing to us, as well as to the residents.
Thanks to all of you who participate in using your gifts to serve in a very tangible and personal way! Thanks especially to Appalachian Christian Village for inviting us into their community. We'll see you next month!
Thank you!

Thanks to all of you who attended, performed, and volunteered Friday night at "God With Us." Tanya and I can't express how excited we are about the results.
What an amazing experience to witness the story of God's love for us, expressed not only through the retelling of the nativity, but also through the wonderful testimony of the hearts of all who participated.
Your talent is attractive but your hearts are even more so. We are blessed to serve along side so many Godly families. Really, really blessed!
Merry Christmas to all of you. We'll see you in a few weeks!

Mentoring & Arts Education.
Posted by Jamin Rathbun on 11/03/06.
Last week, we began working with Boys To Men (the youth mentoring organization) to provide after school programs at Fairmont Elementary. This has been a great connecting point for us and we're thrilled with the work that they are doing with these kids. In addition, we are establishing a relationship with Children of Promise to offer arts education programs at the Arts Center.
These organizations do a great job facilitating personal connections with students and mentors who will invest the time to come along side them to build character and encourage spirtual and physical health.
We're still working out the details but we're really excited about the opportunity to help Boys to Men & Children of Promise change lives. If you'd like to become a part of their mentoring program, visit their web site. We also need financial support to purchase instruments, art supplies, and dance clothing for these students. If you'd like to help, please let us know.
