We are so excited to tell the classic story of The Secret Garden this spring through our dance classes! We are already busy planning choreography, costumes, and character roles that will all contribute to bring this story to life on the stage.
Here are some things to take note of as we work together to create a beautiful performance:
Save the Date:
As you look forward to the end of the school year and the beginning of summer vacation, be sure to save the date for The Secret Garden performances. We will schedule several performances on the weekend of June 5th. If you are enrolled in a dance class, your class will be performing a piece in the ballet. (Please let us know right away if your summer plans will prevent you from participating!)
Auditions:
If you are age 10 or older, we would like to invite you to audition for a character role! We have lots of fun roles to fill that are appropriate for many ages and levels of experience. If you are interested in one of these roles, please take note of the following commitment:
Auditions will take place at Trinity Arts Center on Saturday, February 13th from 1:00-3:00. Please wear a black leotard, pink tights and ballet shoes, with your hair in a neat bun. Keep in mind that if you are cast in a character role, you must attend some Saturday rehearsals.
Rehearsals will be held on the following Saturdays from 1:00-3:00 in the afternoon:
February 27th
March 6th, 13th, and 20th
April 10th, 17th
May 1st, 8th, 22nd, and 29th
March 6th, 13th, and 20th
April 10th, 17th
May 1st, 8th, 22nd, and 29th
We may not need every character to attend every rehearsal, but want you to save the dates just in case. You will be allowed two absences if necessary.
That's it for now! We'll be communicating more details as we go along, but wanted to make sure everyone knew the overview. We hope to see you older students at auditions! Until then, work hard in your classes and & maybe work in some reading time of The Secret Garden this spring if you're not familiar with the story. See you in the garden!!
